Thanks Chen. Yes I do mean Hydrogen and not Helium.
Unfortunately when the ignition is occurring I have no control of the settings.
We will install a moisture trap.
Additionally we were advised for checking for flow using the column inlet into the detector given that we dont have a flow meter.
So I will keep the Board posted.

A moisture trap was installed on the air line.

The method suggested to check for flow did not work. We decided to try something and removed the jet and check using some tubing and bubbling it into some methanol. That didn't work all the time. One time it did and then it could not be repeated. So then we tried using the automatic leak detector. Given the readings we assume that there is flow.

We removed the part with the ignitor (glow plug) to check and see if it lights up when press the ON button (to light the flame). We saw no glowing.

We tried to manually light the flame, but it did not catch. Maybe our technique is poor.

Not sure what to do. We will try lighting the flam again later.

Thanks so much for all your help.

Replaced back the top of the FID and then lit it and it worked.

Dear,

Just check out the position of valve, it the sample is going inside the column, if so, then re-install your FID,

Thanks Akbar,
I think its just the ignitor that is gone.
