HPLC pump won't work

So, can we assume the purge valve was the issue?
Well, lots of air entered the pump, so I checked each fitting, loosening them and let methanol leak out, then I reinstalled the purge valve. Since then the pump's worked well.

Now I have one other problem: where do I get acetonitrile? Seriously, I have called many suppliers and they have none.

I bought 2 litres a few weeks ago, over U$ 160.00 per bottle.

They say many laboratories have stopped working due this very same problem.

Anyway...thank you all very much for being supportive (and patient).

I get my HPLC-grade acetonitrile from VWR, but it is Honeywell/Burdick and Jackson brand. And while the price is coming down, it still isn't cheap.
