I think that 316 stainless is probably a better choice than plastic unless you have phosphopeptides or some other materials that stick to iron. You can buy Rheodyne nuts from Alltech as well as the stainless tubing to make your own loop. As Chris suggested, you can put water in the loop and calculate the volume.
