Rising Baseline in Gas Chromatography

I agree with Don, the baseline drift is acceptable for the size of peaks that you have, provided that the integration puts the baseline in the right place as in Fig 4. Before you start swapping ferrules and trimming the column you need to check for leaks - if there is no leak there is no point swapping ferrules (do not fix what ain't broke rule), if there is a leak you must fix it before you trim the column. Check the septum also.

I disconnected the column from the detector and inserted a no-hole ferrule. I ran my method and this is the chromatogram I got:

So I guess it was the column and the detector does not need to be cleaned.
