I am in the process of setting up an HP/Agilent 6890 GC-FID and while the system is ready to go, it never gets to a ready state following through with a sequence as it continues to be in a "Pre Run" mode. Is there something simple I am missing?

Are you running a sequence with an autosampler and using ChemStation. If yes, check in ChemStation that you have the autosampler set as the injection source. If you have manual injection set, you may get this error.

I think the status bar goes purple if you have not set the injection source to autoinjector.

Thank you! That mention of the purple is accurate. I could not figure it out as it had never done this in the year I have been running this particular instrument, and I had never encountered the issue in the 7 years I had run GC's before this, so I was stumped. But this was exactly what it was and I went in to my method and literally just tabbed through it and it connected to my turret (autosampler). You are a Godsend.
Thanks so very much!
