Does anyone have any information about the quality of HPLC grade acetonitrile packaged in iron drums vs. glass bottles? Anyone have any issues with using material in the iron drum or problems with previously validated methods using acetonitrile in glass bottles?

Is there any noticeable difference between the two?

Thanks a lot.

Hi Meger,

The company I work with has used them for more than a year now and I haven’t heard of any problems. We run many gradient methods as well as isocratic.
The only complaint I’ve heard of is the fact that one can’t see how much ACN there is in the drum, once taken in use.

Best Regards
