First of all I want to pass my kind greetings to our colleagues in USA, for the election and inauguration of their new president Barack Obama.

I know (or at least that's what all world's media say) that there is a good hope for the world, regarding the election of the new US president. Aside from the political meaning of the Obama's presidentship, I would like to ask everyone not only US chromatographers 8) for their opinions or facts regarding the Obama's future influence in the science. Under "Obama's future influence in science" I mean the US new government's strategy for the science and its impact to the World Science overall.

Best regards

I'm sure many of you have read this but I thought it was very interesting, even though in many cases not very specific.

During the campaign there were 14 science questions posed to the candidates, their answers are posted here: http://www.sciencedebate2008.com/www/index.php
