Good afternoon. I am using a Varian 450-GC and am having software problem. It is set to a temperature of up to 250ºC, but the analysis I'm implementing needs a temperature of 300ºC, in the equipment it allows me to adjust to this temperature but in the software does not load the method because of the temperature. My question is if the software has any configuration that I can change the temperature and load the method normally?
Thank you very much in advance.
I am not familiar with Varian but I know Agilent software has an Oven temperature and also Column temperature limit. The instrument will only allow a maximum of the lower of those two limits. If your method has parameters for the column that are lower than 300, then that may be what is limiting the oven temperature even when the hardware limit is 300.

Can you tell me where I can change this setting so that the temperature is 300ºC? Because we can not change the software, only the equipment. And with that does not allow method to charge.
I do not know where the setting would be on Varian equipment. If the software is overriding the hardware setting then you would need to change it in the software. If there is a configuration button on the hardware, look in that menu and see if there is a configuration for the column, it may have a thermal limit set there for the column. There may also be a thermal limit for the column in part of the software method that needs to be changed.

I did find this online

https://www.agilent.com/cs/library/user ... 954180.pdf

On page 141 it shows there is an oven temperature limit that is set from the GC keyboard and is read into the software, maybe if you can find that setting it will correct the problem.
