I am using the Dionex IC equipment and i am relatively inexperienced on it. I have run some water samples looking for anions such as nitrates, phosphates, chlorides, and sulfates. I end up with unknowns in my results. Is it possible to have two peaks for the same anion in my results? Or is it interference from some other source?

In principle, no. In practice, you can sometimes see "split" peaks under some conditions of overload or a high-ionic strength sample, but this is rare. Most likely it's an interference.
