Weird Baseline

Hello everyone
I am very new to the world of chromatography
Does anyone know why my baseline looks like this?
I had the same issue with the previous column so I changed it and now it's making me worried that maybe my MS detector is damaged.
Peaks are not sensible either.
BTW I work with Varian CP-3800 coupled with a 1200MS.
The whole device was unused for more than 10 years. but there wasn't anything wrong with it back then.
Can you please give me you suggestions and help me in this?Image

Hello

I don't know this MS but as general thought I'd say that what you see is not real signal, just electronic noise from detector (it is very symmetrical). Check if your MS is on (not unit - but detector). Have you tried to run tune? Any errors/messages?
I'm sure that someone here knows this model and will give you some tips.

Thanks for your help. actually yes the tuning is all successfully done. The weird thing is that its mutual in both columns.
I wonder how that can be possible

Was the tuning successful with the column installed?

Also check the acquisition method to be sure the detector voltage is the same as in the successful tune, if it is set much lower then maybe you are just seeing the noise and no true signal.
