Does anyone have a good extraction procedure for saponins from indian almond (balanites aegyptiaca)?

Hi
There are some methods for the purification of saponins using counter-current-chromatography ( CCC)
This name is quite strange, a better name for this is liquid-liquid-chromatography, because the core idea is to exchange the solid stationary phase with a liquid stationary phase...
best regards
Chris

If you are researching the content, the two journals to search are Phytochemistry and Fitoterapia. You may also note that indian almond is only one of several common names.
If you want a standardised method for saponin content for regulatory testing, you may have to check out the food literature, such as AOAC, which details procedures.
From the research lilerature:-
