HILIC (Merck) or HILIC (Phenomenex) Who is the best ?

I suspect there is no universal "best". Selectivity is arguably the most important parameter in any LC separation, and favorable selectivity for one application can be unfavorable for another. As with reversed-phase, HILIC selectivity is significantly affected by secondary interactions.

Well the reason for the question is not clear, nor is the context. I think Phenomenex has several HILIC phases. I don't know what Merck has, but there are a lot of different manufacturers around that have HILIC phases, some with known and demonstrated reproducibility and stability.

SeQuant ( ZIC-HILIC ) = Merck.
Phenomenenx seem to promote their Luna HILIC, which I think may be a Diol phase.
Any comments about the merits/demerits of Diol-based columns for HILIC?. I think the Phenomenex Luna HILIC is an ethylene-bridged cross-linked Diol phase on silica.
