problem using UV detector

I'm trying to use a Waters 2487 UV detector with our LC-MS system (UV set up for the first time). It's connected to Waters 2695 via IEEE488 and controlled by Masslynx 3.5. I can control the UV from the inlet editor, e.g. turning lamp on and off, changing wave length...When acquiring data from MassLynx sample list, it seems normal. It will draw the sample and run it for the time specified. However, when I viewed analog output, it only shows a flat line. After some troubleshooting, I found on the display panel of the UV detector, it shows the symbol of local mode.
Any idea why it shows local mode, even though it's controllable by software? How to fix it and get output signal correctly in masslynx?
Thanks!

Check your IEEE addresses - if the MSD is using the as one as the UV, change the one on the UV. By default, I think the 2695 will be 2 and the UV will be 4. If the MSD is also 4, change the UV to 6 (config menu).

Thanks for your reply! I checked the IEEE addresses: 6 for 2695 and 4 for the UV. They show correctly on hardware as well as in the software.

Try first to off MSD from system and generate test peaks through Diagnostics menu to check in Masslynx. If this will help try to change IEEE adress on each instrument.
