Does anyone have the experience of derivitized samples doing damage to your columns?

is there a way to combat this?

We have seen the problem and it seems to be due to the artifacts left over from the derivitization. Depending upon the option of the derivitization step you follow you have different alternatives to clean-up the sample after the derivitization. We simply went with the most aggressive version we could. Columns still tend to get beat up more than we'd like, but it is somewhat mitigated.
