TFK as an ion pairing reagent

Hello
I read an article in which they used TFK 100 mM as an ion pairing reagent.
I read about TFK and I dont think its the best thing to use in a RP HPLC system...

I wondered if anyone has an idea regarding another ion pairing reagent I can use?

Best regards

What's TFK?

TFK - Trifluoromethylketone

Sorry about that.

Maybe it forms a charge transfer complex with some (and only some) compounds??

My compound is 3-palmitoyl-sn-glycerol

My compound is 3-palmitoyl-sn-glycerol
Its a monoglyceride.

Im looking for something to replace the TFK.

Thanks.

I don´t see any possibility for interaction here that could even remotely be called ionic. Maybe some hydrogen bonding from the OH?
There are a million methods for lipids of your type out there.

Hmmm, still don't know what TFK is? As HWM said, your compound is not ionic so it shouldn't require an ion pairing reagent. I don't see why you would need any mobile phase additive for that matter. I would try running without the TFK. What kind of column do you plant to use?

Actually, in the article I read, they said nothing about the part of TFK in the method. I asumed its there as an ion pairing reagent...

So should I ignore what they wrote in that article I read and try to do it in a different method?

Cause we already bought the column...

Best regards.

The column we bought is Fortis H2o.

TFK - Trifluoromethylketone

Thanks.
