In search of software/hardware to update older system

Hi,

We have some older HPLC equipment in our laboratory (we are an academic research group). One system has the following components:

SSI 222C pump
SSI 232C gradient
Shimadzu RF-10AXL fluorescence detector

The other system has the following components:

Shimadzu RF-551 spectrofluorometric detector
Shimadzu SPD-5AV UV-Visibile detector
HP Series 1050 pump

We are looking for a system that can accomodate this instrumentation for use with Windows XP, Vista, or MacOS X (Windows preferred), along the lines of eDaq PowerChrom system (software + box to drive instrument): http://www.edaq.com/powerchromsystems.html. Are there similar systems available? Which is the best? The most cost effective?

Recommendations are appreciated.

Thanks,
Aaron

Most any modern system will be able to take a 1V analog signal via A/D converter, so as long as you have the needed controllers, you should be able to use what you have.

Thanks

Thanks. Does anyone have any recommendations for A/D converters, in particular, one that has a USB connection?

Thanks,
Aaron

You can consider our Clarity software with U-PAD2 A/D converter (2 channel, USB connection). Details and distributors can be found on our web pages www.dataapex.com.
