Can anyone tell me approximately which (non aromatic) carbonnumbers will elute before benzene on a carbowax 20M packed column?
Thx!

As benzene is the first marker in the McReynolds Retention value system, you can obtain the information from most suppliers of stationary phases.

The delay is added to the expected retention on a non-polar column, and is explained in the following bulleletin, along with the data for the Carbowax 20M. It's avery useful file to have on your PC, as catalogues don't always offer the tables anymore.
