HIC -HILIC

Hi All !
my question would probably seem a bit basic, but i have some troubles to understand the differences between HIC and HILIC (retention mechanisms, stationary phases and so on).
I read some papers about that, and i can't well understand what it is really how it works ?
...any clear (and simple, by the way
) explanations for me ?
