Detector outlet connected to pump overflow

I found out (nearly the hard way) that my detector outlet had been put back into the pump overflow tubing. I did not see this for 2 days after return and the pump drain had nearly reached its limit. Luckily it hadn't overflowed into the pump or benchtop. This happened when I was off for 2 days. No-one has admitted to knocking the outlet loose from its drain tube and the re-connecting incorrectly. I have the reverse problem to CPG in that I have lower than BSc to train up too. I don't think its a good situation.

The other people I have met say they keep a tub/ tray under the waste container because when they go away there is a high probability they will return to find a puddle... :?

Then everyone says "I swear, I didn't touch anything". Why can't anyone confess, I'm nice, I just want to explain how to NOT break things...
