Chomatographers! :D ,

I've changed our Thermo Focus GC from a capillary column to a packed column. I've configured the instrument through the software but the GC parameters are not that of the programme's. When I try to 'send' the parameters to the GC 'inlet types do not match' displays. If a then configure the instrument back to the previous capillary set-up the computer communicates with the GC indicating there is no problem with any cabling. The software we're using is Chrom Card. We bought the instrument new from Thermo and we were not supplied with a Chrom Card programme disk so I am unable to remove the programme and reinstall.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance

The GC configuration settings on the Chromcard system must correspond to your GC. You can use the get option to upload the parameters. When you say you are changing to packed coluimn have you got a Megabore/packed injector or SSL ? Your GC itself can be configured via the GC key panel to allow switching on/off of injectors and future upgrades. Does the configuration from the keyboard match the injector/detector combinations ?
Chromcard , it's manuals etc. are all available for free download from

You should also contact your local supplier who should have advised regarding setting the system up ?
