Is there such a thing as a perchlorate buffer? What pH range does it cover and how would it be prepared?

In many solvents perchloric acid at concentrations of about 0.001M and greater will be a fair to excellent buffer for very acidic pH ranges Sodium perchlorate is not a buffer in aqueous media, any more than sodium chloride.

Perchlorates can be buffers in low dielectric nonaqueous solvents, for example acetic acid, but an explanation of how they work in this environment is a bit involved.
