Hi
Well I am planning to do a comparison and classification of various Reverse phase column for compounds we are analysis/studying in our lab. Could some one tell me an approach for such an exercise??
Thanks a lot

Maybe such classifications have already been performed?

An example of the data, used in a
previous thread, is given below.
Waters, for example, have a downloadable selectivity program in the form of a "Column Selection Tool". Other manufacturers may have web-based information along these lines.

I have recently written a literature review on the subject. Contact me for a copy of the article, which was published in the Journal of Separation Science.

MAC-MOD has some literature on their web site also.
http://www.mac-mod.com
Click on the Support tab, then the Technical Reports option. The Comparison Guide is one of the listed options. Other column manufacturers may have similar information on their sites, also.

So, which columns are you going to be looking at? I ask this because your initial message gives one the impression you are looking to correlate particular columns to the analysis of certain compound types. That's all well and good when you consider the examples presented in a lot of manufacturer literature or you are manufacturing a generic with a "borrowed" process.
Where I work one could consider every synthesis unique and, therefore, so are the separation challenges.
