Hi people!

I work on a GC/MSD (6890/5973) for determination of pesticides in fruits, vegetables, water and soil.

Which is the best and cheapest cleanup?

Thank you

Try to use quecher's method. It's the most inexpensive method.

astroguille,

I have to admit that quechers looks very interesting. I just looked it up tonight and I am going to read more about it over the coming days.

In the "old" days I would recommend gel permeation as a good way to remove fats and oils from pesticide extracts. Uses a lot of solvent but can certainly be built inexpensively in any lab (about 2-2.5 K without a UV detector and can be made to work with any used HPLC UV 254 detector.) Good thing about this cleanup is it is size based so minimal worries about pesticide/cleaning agent interactions. I can provide more info or you can look it up on the Accustandard or EPA website.

Best regards.

astroguille,

http://www.accustandard.com/asi/epa_downloads.php3
http://www.epa.gov/osw/hazard/testmetho ... series.htm

Two web sites that have Method 3640 which discusses GPC cleanup.

If after reviewing the method you want to know how to build it, please send me an e-mail through my web site and I will send you guidance.

Best regards.
