hi

i recently came across an ION exchange column (Anion exchange column ) which recommends to do storage in 20% ethanol...can i know the reason for using 20% ethanol??
..and what would be the "best" (..if there is any )storage buffer choice for anion and cation exchange columns??

20% ethanol prevents microbial growth within the column.

To prepare columns for long term storage (no matter if reversed phase, anion or cation exchange, ion-exclusion etc) you should always follow the manufacturers recommendations.
