Has Agilent released a patch or anything to allow Chemstation V.B.0301 to run on Vista machines?

Let me clarify that this will be an offline PC just for data analysis.

Thanks,

Have you tried and failed? What error message or problems did you encounter?

I have tried and failed. It appears to install correctly and I was able to installe SR 1.1 but not the subsequent patch. I have since uninstalled so I can't recall the error exactly, but there was an error when loading chemstation after which, if you chose the option to continue the startup, it would freeze up. You would have to use the task manager to get out of it.

Are there alternative software (3rd party) that can be bought cheaply to analyze chemstation data files?

Thanks,

Find a coworker with compatible OS on their PC ( bosses will probably have Vista on theirs ), and convince them to upgrade their PC, and use the worker's old PC - cheaper than new software.

we got a copy of the new chemstation software (Revision E.02.00) a couple of weeks ago and it runs fine on Vista, it might be worth getting hold of a copy, or on the other hand you could downgrade your vista pc to xp

With Windows Vista, I have encountered problems with installation of several programs in case the UAC control was active. After disabling it (at least temporarily during installation) evrything worked fine.
