Chromforum server problems?

Every visit I make to the site is interrupted by more than one occurance of the following. Usually I will bring up the index page and am then presented with the "service unavailable" page when selecting a subforum to view. I even got it when I tried to log in to post this message. If it's important, I'm viewing from the UK.
While I fully appreciate the free access to the chromforum, I would be very pleased to see the service running from a more reliable host (assuming it's not just me with troubled access.)
Regards.

It happened many times here also, the last time just now when I wanted to come in here the first time. It was the third time in less than 5 minutes.

I have the same "problem" on daily basis. When I get the "Service Temporarily Unavailable" screen, I simply reload/refresh the page and the problem goes away.

Same problem here, and if I get passed, sometimes the icons aren't shown only rectangles with a smaller rectangle inside

Yes the situation is tedious...from Bulgaria too. I don't believe that it is a problem with the server capacity because when only 15-20 users are online there are problems too . Possibly the problem is with the unstable connection to and from the server. Admin, please tell us...

Tedious is completely apt. Sometimes I have to go through multiple refreshes (not made a note of my record yet) to load the forum, switch subforums, log in, post, or edit. Since opening this thread I have never had an uninterrupted visit and infact it appears significantly worse. While the error indicated in the opening post affects the whole sepsci domain, i.e. it prevents anyone loading the Separation Science Associates website and the chromforum, this next problem affects just the latter.

And now after "your message has been entered successfully".
And once more

This problem is getting worse, it's happening virtually every time I try to access the forum or each thread and is taking more and more refresh attempts to get through.
NOTE: I had to refresh >10 times just to get this post in

I have the same problem; sometime I even can not access to the homepage so what I do is this...
I write in google: "chromatographyforum + oscarbal" this way I can enter to Chromatography forum from my profile; but then problems start when going to other pages.
Regars.

I'm wondering if Tom has been on to the hosting provider
The performance has improved dramatically in the last few hours.

I got through to here today without a single "unavailable", etc., statement. It was very slow, though, surprised that no "time" problem came up.

Mine seems to be working fine today. Unfortunately I have other things to worry about, being unemployed in a months time being the most prominent.

After several run-arounds with the Internet service provider, I got them to admit that they were "throttling" access in order to minimize the load on their server.
Which irritates me since we are using less than 5% of the allowed bandwidth on the account.
They have assured me that the problem has now been fixed. I'm "cautiously optimistic".
