[request] offline HPLC data processing

I have Beckman Gold HPLC/PDA running with 32 Karat 7.0.

The software is so unfriendly. All I want to do is manually integrate peaks. I could not perform this.

I am wondering to know any user friendly software which will let me do simple tasks like manual integration of peaks.

I understand that 32 Karat is build on EZChrom and I am not enthusiastic to use EZchrom.

Please suggest alternative options such as any FREEWARE or trailware (to see whether this works with my beckman data files).

Thank you,

Dhan

Well if you are not fan of EZChrom then yeah this will be tough. 32Karat can export the chromatograms into what is known as the Common Data Format file or .CDF This type file is usable with many freeware programs for integration. It also can be used with Empower and Chromeleon if you like those. To do this go into the advanced selection under the Method menu and click on the Export Enabled checkbox. Then select chromatogram from the drop down menu and select the AIA or .CDF export type and designate where it will be exported. save the method and re-analyze. Now you can open this file in any other CDS supporting this file format

What freeware would you recommend? I have the same issue as the original post.

Hello,
I also have a question about the data export from 32Karat, namely is it possible to define somewhere/somehow, in which units the data is exported?
My problem is: 32Karat data imported into Chromeleon is in AU, and I would like to have it in mAU in order to have resonable numbers. Chromeleon specialist told me, it cannot be changed in Chromeleon and should come from Karat in proper units.

many thanks in advance for your help,
Anna

Hi Anna
In Chromeleon, you can process channels of aquired chromatograms. I don't know if this is possible for imported data, but give it a try. Open one of the chromatograms, right click into the chromatogram and select "Arithmetic combination...".
In the dialogue window, enter "A * 1000" into the field "Operation" and give the new channel a nice name. Check the box "apply to all samples in the sequence" and hit OK. All the samples in the sequence will now have an additional channel where the actual measurement values appear by factor 1000 larger. The unit description, however is not changed, I don't know if this can be done.

Good luck
Jörg

Our UniChrom (www.unichrom.com/unichrome.shtml) can read EzChrom files (branded under Beckman, Shimadzu and other clones)
Download is here: www.unichrom.com/dle.php

Data processing is free.

The list of supported formats: http://www.unichrom.com/chrom/uc-ffe.shtml

Currently compressed files (there is such options while saving files in 32-bit EzChrom, kind of checkbox in save dialog) are unsupported. They use some kind of arithmetic compression (variable-length samples) which we have not yet deduced.

Supported either packed (compressed files) and unpacked stream versions.
EzChrom clones branded:
* 32-Karat (Beckman)
* ChromQuest (Thermo)
* EzChrom itself
