Good morning Chromatography Forum,

Today is my last full day of work and before I leave I would like to thank all the forum members who have contributed to my education and have entertained me doing it.

Dr. Hal, Bruce, Peter, CPG (whoever you are) and many others have shared their knowledge, wisdom, and experience in the forum and I appreciate their kindness and generosity.

My apologies to all I have not named, there are so many my little mind cannot remember all of you.

I wish you all well and hope that chromatography will be as good to you as it has been to me since I did my first injection in 1971 on a Porapak Q (one always remembers the first time) .

chromatographer1 is my address at the " Ya Hoo " web site if any would care to send me a "hello how are you? " once in a while.

My career began at Sigma-Aldrich's Assay Lab in St. Louis and and ended at its Bellefonte Site (formerly Supelco) and passed through American Cyanamid's Research Analytical Services, Phillips Petroleum's Applied Automation, Mallinckrodt's Corporate Analytical Research, and Daniel Industries's Production Engineering so I was blessed with a multi-dimensional exposure to analytical chemistry at its best in many fields.

In case anyone is interested I will be moving to the Kansas City, MO area and addressing family concerns on a part time basis. It will be nice to go back home again after departing there when I was drafted in the Army in 1972 and not returning for any length of time due to employment.

I wish you all well and hope your resolutions remain sharp and your columns live forever.

Rodney George

Congratulations on your extensive career and retirement. I wish you all the best and I will continue to support Sigma-Aldrich with every last penny I have, hopefully providing you with a luxurious retirement!

  :D

Happy retirement Chromatographer1! Thank you again for all your contributions in the forum; and sharing your knowledge with the rest of us.

Best regards,

Kostas Petritis

This is really a case of mixed emotions: on the one hand, congratulations indeed on your retirement (may you enjoy it for many years!) :D . On the other hand, we'll miss you  . Your contributions to the Forum have been extremely valuable (and appreciated!).

If you feel the need to "keep your hand in", please continue to read and post here in the Forum!

Congratulations for your retirement! I hope that you'll spend your retirement days in peace, good health and interesting company. I also hope that you won't forget our chromatographic community and post articles on this site.
I know that everyone who is really interested in chromatography, here on this forum, has learnt a lot from you (especially in the field of gas chromatography). Thank you for your unselfish advices and wise comments.

I wish you all the best,
Regards
Zoran

I visited the Bellefonte site in 2005 i guess it was, with my Instrumental Analysis class (from Bloomsburg University). Supelco has always provided me with great columns and customer service. Good luck to you.

I would like to echo the comments of those before me, particularly the wishes for your enjoyment of the future years.

Only recently I had dropped your nickname and given name to a colleague of mine in the hope we might benefit from your remarkable expertise when the need arose. We had just realised we were distant colleagues of yours under another of Sigma-Aldrich's branches. I will gently break the news to those I work with :)

For your contributions to the forum I feel you are known and will be remembered as a member of particular significance.

Best regards.

Rod,

I hope you find time between peering at the night sky, napping, and fishing to pop back to these fora once in while.

Your contributions have educated many, especially as those who understand gas analysis by GC are few and far between. it's been great to learn from you.

A working lifetime's skills are a hard-earned treasure that is greatly appreciated by those who you share them with. Your helpful contributions will be greatly missed.

Whatever you choose to do, I hope it provides great personal satisfaction and joy, and that your retirement is enjoyable and long.

As always, remember to please keep having fun,

Bruce Hamilton

Rod

Having been off the forum for a while I found that I had missed your "retirement party". All the best, come back for a visit once in a while.
