Our issue is relates to not only the machine (QP2010-s) but also with the service tech and his boss. We have had several techs in last couple years. Two of which knew absolutely nothing. This time he opened the machine and pulled out the ion source assembly. The bracket holding this assembly was bent or warped, pretty bad. He/they basically accused us of messing with it and said the machine could not even perform PM test in the current condition. We have never touched or removed this assembly, yet we are being accused of doing so. I know for certain that we never touched it. Has anyone had similar experiences with this machine or these Shimadzu guys in general? Thank you for any response.

I am just curious, It's our first complex instrument and I am afraid everything we buy is going to be a constant problem.

Not sure what bracket you are referring to. It is held in place by a couple of screws. Do you mean the lever on the right side where the column attaches to the source. In any case, he probably messed it up when he was removing it from the instrument.
