Agilent Ultra-Inert columns

Has anyone tried these columns? Do they offer any real benefits? Or is this just a marketing scheme?

Not not yet but will keep it in mind.

I also kind of share your "concern" a bit. I always found the "old" HP-5 and HP-5ms columns inferior inertness wise than J&Ws columns for instance (ie DB-5, DB-5ms).
J&W and Agilent/HP merged a few years back so hopefully they have taken the "good" stuff from former J&W.

Lets see if I can included a very extreme case/images of column manfacture differences with regard to highly brominated BDEs:
