cold injector vs. split/splitless injector

I have a method that requires a cold injector; however I have a split/splitless injector. Does anyone have any suggestions how I coud run my sample with minimal heat history? I am analyzing waxes in olive oil.

There are injection liners that fit split injectors that convert the injector to direct injection. If you could find a minimal ID liner that allows a direct connection to the column via a hourglass shape (I used one once in a Varian GC which was designed for a Perkin Elmer GC that was purchased from Restek) you might then inject a sample into the liner and slowly heat the sample.
Another way would be to get a liner which allows a direct connection of a column at the inlet end of the liner. If you can get a small OD needle to pass a sample onto the column then you can imitate a cool on-column injector.
It will take some searching of web sites for different liners and will be highly dependent upon the manner in which your GC seals the injection liner in your GC's injection port.
It may not be possible with your GC.
