Problem with Chem32

Hi, I'm dean and new to this forum. This summer I'm working at Arizona State University and on an Agilent 1200 series. Just today I encountered a problem with the Chem32 software we use for running the machine. For some reason under the Data Analysis tab we are unable to see all the past data files even though the directory is correct. I've tried using the help function and fiddling around with it but can't seem to find the solution. Please let me know if this is something that you have encountered before and what the appropriate solution is, thanks!

Did you make sure that the file extension is .D? Maybe someone did "open with" and then checked the box always use the X program to open them so the extension has changed. If this is the case you won't see them from the Data analysis tab...

1. Make sure you are looking along the correct path, see what the entire path is under Sequence Parameters (e.g. C:\Chem32\1\Data\(whatever subdirectory you have made)\xxxx.D

2. If you have electronic security such as Chemstore, your study might have been set up so that data files go to your ChemStore database only, and are deleted from the directory as shown above upon completeion; on our version of ChemStore (1100, older than yous), that is the default, and we must "un-check" the box to keep those data files in the Data directory.

I've checked the file extensions and they are all .D, but thanks for the suggestion.

The weird thing is, this happened all of a sudden after I shutdown the software and rebooted it.

In Data Analysis View, select the View, Preferences menu. Under Paths, what do you have set for Data Paths? Try setting it so it only shows the root path to data, C:\Chem32\1\DATA\ for instrument 1. If you have other paths, and your data is in the above path, remove the extra paths and try again.
