I am working in a shared lab where HPLC is shared So we do not get much time to do data processing like integrating chromatograms for impurity purpose.calculating peak purity etc. I want to know if I can buy Agilent 1100 software just for data processing.SO I can run my samples in lab and then copy raw file to my home computer for intergration,peak purity etc. Can somebody please answer me is it possible to buy data processing part only and hwo much it may cost.

The ChemStation software can be loaded on any computer. You can use your existing software license and install an "off-line" version. Just follow the installation instructions.

However, we should all be fair to the software manufacturer, and when you buy a new instrument, please buy new software.

I do have a software offiline and online in our lab computer So the license was used there for both Instrument online and offline. So I will have to buy new license or new software package to install on other lab computer which is not attached to hardware? Am I right ? Or I can install the old software on another computer in offline mode without license issue.

You will have to use the license number to install the software. You would have to read the License Agreement to determine if multiple off-line installations are allowed. The actual installation is relatively easy and not restricted in any way. You just have to determine if it is allowed based on your organization's policies and Agilent's license.

The original poster should contact Agilent support about what is permitted.

I recall that the standard version of A series Chemstation was only licenced for use on one computer, so the on and offline could only be used on the same instrument-controlling computer.

I'm not sure if the later versions still have that constraint. A quick visit to the Agilent WWW Chemstation site wasn't very helpful about current options.

If you wanted a separate copy on another instrument for data processing you had to purchase a separate "offline data analysis" package - which came complete with manuals etc.

The issue was complicated by the fact that you had to purchase both the Chemstation and a separate spectral analysis package licence if you had 2D detector ( like DAD ) data to process.

In my case, I think the codes were G2175AA, and G2185AA for the LC data analysis only version that I purchased, not sure if they are the same as the normal version. The price wasn't too exorbitant - by Agilent standards.

I checked with agilent they have Spectoral Data analysis only software Which I can purchase for 1300 dollar(including tax shipping handling)..Its expensive but will see if our budget permit and its worth spendign money

Try to install 2D data analysis only. It installs 2 off-line instruments (LC and GC) only. This option doesn't ask for licence key. I was told by Agilent that it is allowed.

The license agreement states that you will install one license on ONE computer. If you install that license on a 2nd computer you are violating the license agreement. There is a workaround.
Install G2190AA (16 bit) or G2190BA (32 bit) which installs Data Analysis only, no instrument control, and it requires no license.
