I want to analyst glycerol (boiling point ~290 C) and similar oxygenate (lower B.P.). I find in catalog but there is no one suitable (I focus on carbowax because my sample possess high polar) cause by its low max temp. Please tell me what column suitable for this analysis and information about it. Addition information, my sample is solution in water ( water ~90% wt) and in present, I use Supellco carbowax packed column max temp ~250 (I use @ 210C) with FID detector.
-Thank you everybody so much- ^________^

IF you search the posts in the forum you will see suggestions for glycerol in water on Capillary columns.

I would suggest that Chromosorb 101 might be a good packing if you used fused silica coated SS or a glass column, especially if coated with a small amount of Carbowax. I believe Supelco sells a stock column of this description.

Refractive index detection by HPLC might be a solution, depending upon the concentration levels you seek to measure.

best wishes,
