Benzyl alcohol keeps failing in my initial calibration

We analyze 8270s on a GC/MS. All compounds pass perfect on averaged curves for our initial calibration except for benzyl alcohol. Any suggestions as to what may cause this?
i was browsing through the forum, and i noticed there were no replys to your post.
in my experience benzyl alcohol tends to tail dramatically as the system becomes contaminated. if you're calibrating a typical 8270 list of compounds, the tail may actually overlap 2-methylphenol, making integration difficult.
you might try clipping off a loop or two of column, if you think this might be the problem.
on the other hand, i recently had a problem calibrating carbazole (which tails in a similar way), but i had just installed a new column, so no obvious tailing. who knows?
sorry about the late response, but i just joined this forum. you've probably worked this out by now.
