We are derivatising low levels of guanine based compounds with MTBSTFA in pyridine. The derivatisation seems to work OK. We use splitless injection on our Agilent(Gerstel) PTV, and have not been able to get consistent results. Is it possible to use solvent vent mode to remove the pyridine and excess MTBSTFA? Or am I being hopelessly optimistic?
