I'm interested in setting up a demonstration of liquid chromatography in which the analytes are all dyes (visible colors) of polarities ranging from very nonpolar (carotene would be a good choice) to very polar (such as one of the water-soluble food dyes) with a number of dyes of intermediate polarity between. Ideally, there would be several contrasting colors represented, and the colors would be intense.

The purpose is to quickly demonstrate the utility of a given mobile phase and stationary phase with respect to solute polarity.

I was hoping to find that someone else had already undertaken to define such a mixture, or perhaps even to have made it commercially available, but so far have not come across any such thing.

I would appreciate any information anyone could provide to help me find or to define such a test sample.
