Hello,

My laboratory wants to buy a new HPLC to determine the chemical composition of its products (food products). Agilent, Dionex, Varian, Thermo, Shimadzu and Waters have presented to me their HPLC. Technically their device are very similar. The difference will be on the quality of the technical support after purchase.
I would like to know your experiences on the technical support of these different society and help me to choice the good chromatograph.

Thank you in advance

It all varies from area to area. If there are other labs in the area, ask their chromatographers what they think of the service people they know.

Are they good?
Are they responsive?
Have they been in the area long?

Another consideration may be the CDS - if you already have one and are interested in instrument control, this may become a factor, as could a potential discount for buying a system & CDS.

If you do not yet have a CDS but will want one, ask the local chromatographers about their experiences while you're chatting them up about service people.

Thank you for the answer

You're right that the support depends on one region to another (I am in France).
I will ask contacts of people using their equipment.

Thank you
