GC/MS S/N

Discussions about GC and other "gas phase" separation techniques.

Dear all,

We have a new DSQII single quadropole GC/MS (ThermoFinnigan) and when I am integrating for the S/N the value is in RMS. I know that is the Root Mean Square, but I couldn't find more information.
Anyone that could direct me?
