Analyze Glycerol by GC without derivatization

I have been using GC liquid injection to analyze impurities in my sample, and found glycerol to be one of the impurities. Quantitaition of glycerol has been a problem for me. There seemed to be a threshold below which I saw no peak and above which I saw big fronting peak. I know glycerol is very polar and it is usually analyzed by GC after derivatization. But I just still wonder if it could be done without derivatization by GC and if so what would be the right column, WAX? Thanks!

30 m x 0.53 mm i.d. x 3.0 mm SPB-624 (Supelco #25430) or Restek Rtx-624 (Restek #10971) capillary column.
United States Pharmacopoeia-National Formulary, USP 25, section<621> and pp. 808-809, or any of the newer editions, under glycerin monograph. Glycerin peaks are OK on this.
