Hi,

I have a solubility question for all you organic chemists out there.

Where can i find out the solubility constant of Naltrexone Hydrochloride in DCM?

Also if the Ntx.HCl is dissolved in DCM does it separate into Ntx and HCl in the organic solution or does it remain as the complete molecule? and why pls.

Thanks

Chances are slim to none that you will find such solubility data. It is faster to do this yourself, provided you have an HPLC instrument, which one can assume to be given.

If it dissolves, it would dissolve as an ion pair. If you are keen on dissolving naltrexone in DCM, you can add an equimolar amount of sodium hydroxide to your aqueous solution of naltrexone HCl, and naltrexone will be happy to escape into the organic solution.
