Friends,

Our product Benzene from our process unit contain Total Nitrogen (Organic) is less than 30 ppb. We have the instrument which is capable and detecting peak also. But the solvent which ever I used (Iso-Octane, Xylene, Toluene, Methanol etc.) all contain total nitrogen value higher than my sample (based on area unit).

Can anyone please suggest me how can I quantify Total Nitrogen when my sample counts is less than my any of the recommended solvent.

Looking forward to some great tips

What instrument are you using ?

Why do you need to dilute the sample with another solvent ?

Dear,

The instrument is Multitek-TSTN .

I don't want to dilute sample but wants to prepare calibration standards in suitable solvent. As my sample TN data counts are coming less than available solvent TN data counts.

Regards,
Niraj

Have you tried benzene as the solvent for the standards ?

What grade of solvents have you tested; reagent ?, analytical ?, pesticide ?

Make your standards in your benzene and use known addition to quantify the TN in your sample. This is precisely what known addition is for.
