Hi All,

Has anyone any experience of using Fusion AE with Galaxie? The brochure looks interesting but is it as good as it looks? Any info would be appreciated.

Yes it is as good as it looks.
Please contact your local Varian Representative and ask for a demo.

I downloaded the demo from s-matrix's website in april. I wasn't that impressed. As it would be mainly used for method validation where I work it doesn't seem worth getting.

I have a few other quick questions (regarding Galaxie):

1) I am currently working on getting a 5890A GC working on galaxie, but however we configure it when the method downloads onto the kit it sets the detector temperature then turns the thermal zone off. I have tried different instrument configurations and setting different setpoints/options in the method. Is there a cut down GC driver that will allow us to use this system 'manually' (setpoints/oven programs entered on the kit) with serial signal aquisition and galaxie controlled autosampler (7883?)

2) We have a number of PerkinElmer 200 series LC's, are there any plans to program an instrument control driver for these?

Hi,

I'm not clear what you wanted FusionAE to do for you? If its Validation you want it does it, highly automated and compliant. Bench tests show time savings between 60 to 80%.

I'm not aware of any issues with respect to the 5890A GC so long as you are using control via the supported serial port in the back of the GC (not the top). Please progress this issue through the correct chanels (i.e. your local Varian Customer Support dept.)

At this time there are no plans to control the PE 200 series LC. However please request the development via your local Varian representative. It is such input from the field that guides our development priorities.
