Hello!!

I have a problem with a ThermoFinnigan GC -IRMS, it is not working anymore, because of the low pressure, it cannot reach the setpoint pressure. First of all, I searched for leaks otuside from the instrument to all connections, but is was ok, no leaks also to the column, I changed the oil to the pump, may be it was not working properly..but still the same problem. Is anyone have any idea of something else, to try find out where is the problem and fix it?

Thank you in advance

Have you checked that there is gas in the supply cylinder, and that the cylinder regualtor is set to give the right pressure in the lines ?

Yes, there is gas in the supply cylinder and the setpoint of the regulator.

OK, which pressure are we talking about here, the inlet pressure on the GC or the vacuum of the MS ?

The pressure of the MS in the vacuum, but the pump is working properly, we think that the problem is in the turbo, but..no idea
