Hi

I heard that there are “electronic Dampening” methods to decrease/remove pressure pulses from HPLC pumps, could some one tell me how they work..? And which all HPLC system in the market uses such a system???

Thank you

The phrase "electronic dampening" can simply refer to putting an R-C filter on the pressure sensor output. The pulsations are still there, you just don't see them.

That said, most pumps today use sophisticated software to adjust the pump speed during the initial portion of the discharge stroke (basically, this speeds up pressurization of the mobile phase in the pump head).

Carefully with dampening if you are in regulated environment. Generally manipulation with raw data in this manner is not allowed.
