You might try Agilent. They are in Germany and make the most popular HPLC in the world. There is also Knauer in Germany. I'm sure there are more but those come to mind.

Waters used to have a manufacturing site in Ireland (I don't know if they still do), and Dionex purchased Gynkotech some years back, so I expect they still have a major manufacturing presence in Germany.

You may have to check the fine print on the grant; in today's global economy it is probably hard to find any system with 100% origin in any single country or region.

To support the previous post from mardexis: Though Agilent is a company from US, their chemical analysis division is located in Germany (by company tradition, formerly part of HP), where they also manufacture hardware -- if I remember right what a sales guy from Agilent told me about a year ago. Most of our hardware from A. is made in Germany -- however, I don't know whether all the hardware is exclusively produced there.. somebody else might know better, or could just call them to ask.

Dear ccharles.
here in Latin America the grants coming from EU requir that at least the 60% have to be built in Europe or a ALA country (Asia, Latin America). for example as far as I remember the MS form Waters is built in UK; and this is so much more than the 60% of the equipment when you require an LC/MS.

Are you looking for just for a HPLC system? then ask for Cecil Instruments in UK.

Good Luck.

Agilent is in Waldbronn, Germany. The HPLC is officially 'from' there though the degasser and some uv may still be from Japan and the 'new' elsd is from France.

Tom's right of course... most things are assembled from parts from all over the world. I believe the Agilent ion trap spends time in China, Germany and the US before going to a customer.

I also know that Dionex, while an American company, has an extensive LC presence in Europe, and their LC products are managed by an office in Germany. I believe the system is made in Europe.

GC instruments:
Headspace samplers are made in Italy (G1888, HP7694), GC 6850 in China.
