Merging of peaks of IPA and DMT

I have another problem when i installed new column on GC. IPA and DMT peaks are merging and keep in mind that their retention time difference only 0.4 min but in previous column their peaks were clear and another problem as we noticed that peaks of other compounds like DEG , ST and methanol are broad as compared to last column.

What are possible causes and how can i resolve this matter?

Please let me know soon.

Regards,
Kashif

What's DMT? What's ST?

alcohols are broad and tailing?

Loss of effective separation of analytes?

Sounds as though you may have injected a dirty sample or you have misplaced the column in the injector. Perhaps you have graphite at the column inlet, or have some graphite within the column.

Trim the inlet side of the column and re-install.

best wishes,

If you truly want help it would be helpful for you to give the Forum members a bit more information about your sample, your column, and your analytical conditions.

It is almost impossible for anyone to give you any advice with such meager information.

I hope your problem gets solved quickly.

best wishes,

Rod
