For salt stability testing experiment my boss has asked to use area % method. Can somebody please explain me that

Add up the total area for all the peaks, then calculate the % of that total represented for each peak of interest. The assumption is that the response factors for all the peaks are the same (a very risky assumption, but one that is often made in the absence of standards for all the degradants) so that the area % is the same as the mass %.

Peaks resulting from an injection of a blank solution should not be included in the calculation.
