Injector Temp: 78C for 1.2 minutes, then ramped at 200Cmin to 290C, 10 minute hold
Injector Split: Set at 75:1 for 1.2 minutes, then splitess until 3.0 minutes, split vent reopens this time at 200:1
Needle: Uptake Speed is 10uL/sec, and ejection rate is 4uL/sec
I've read different reviews on what temperature to keep the injector when doing large volume injections. The 8200 manual I have for the Varian says to keep the injector temperature about 2-3 degrees below the boiling point of the solvent. Interestingly, I see Shimadzu says to keep the injector around 10C lower than the solvent boiling point. Gerstel says to keep the injector around 20-30C lower than the solvent boiling point. I wonder if these numbers are so radically different just because the PTVs are designed differently? Based on what people have done here, how much lower than the boiling point of the solvent should the injector temperature initially be set for large volume injection?
Also, I tried using an SGE sintered large volume injector liner. However, a split liner packed with silanized glass wool seemed to work much better. The SGE sintered glass liner didn't contain any wool. Does anyone have any suggestions for the "best" liners to use for large volume injections?
Thanks for any feedback!!
