VOCARB3000 performance issue - Tekmar P&T

Discussions about GC and other "gas phase" separation techniques.

Hello at all
I like to know if everyone has had performance problem with Vocarb3000 (k) trap.
I have installed three different trap on my Tekmar LSC3100, and the problem was insufficient recovery of aromatic compound, heavy tailing of pentafluorobenzene, poor performance in general.
The system between first and second trap change has been serviced: new column, new transferline, new lines into the purge e trap. The trap was conditioned very well, but no change happened until new trap was installed.
How many injection can you make with a single trap?
Thanks to all

What are your P&T parameters? Flow, purge time, dry purge time, desorb temp, desorb time, bake out temp and time.

Did you switch from another knind of trap to the K type? Or did you just replace the K trap with a new lot? These traps do have some lot to lot variation, but I have generally seen this effect the gas range compounds the hardest as well as fluorobenzene.

Hi
the parameters are "classic" parameter:
purge 11 min at 40mL/minute
desorb preheat 245°C
desorb 1min at 250°C
bake 7min at 260°C
no dry purge

I have switched from K to K trap due to poor performance but new trap degrade very quickly (100 injection)
So my question arise: how many injection? In the past I had been able to do 10000 injection with single trap.
Thank you for reply.
